Spend enough time at Lit Espresso Bar and you’ll soon discover that we’re wholeheartedly obsessed with crafting the perfect cup of espresso, latte, or drip coffee.

Since 2009 our crew of baristas have been serving up a range of fresh, seasonal coffee varietals and signature blends from our friends and roasting partners at Pig Iron Coffee. Along the way, we’ve built some incredible relationships with local bakeries like Circle & Squares and OMG Baked Goodness, who’ve helped pack our cafés with sweet, mouth-watering treats and life-affirming paninis.  

Whether you’re passing through Roncesvalles Village or walking along the Ossington-College strip, you’re just steps away from being transported to a world of pure coffee bliss. And if you’ve never been to Lit, be sure to stop by one of our two locations for a cup, a treat, a panini, a chat – maybe even a cupping if fortune favours you. You’ll be glad you did!

Why is our coffee so profoundly good?

When it comes to ensuring you taste perfection with every sip, slurp, and spoon, we’re a bit zealous. Which is why we work overtime to pick up as many direct trade agreements from individual farmers, and only source the highest quality coffee cherries from freshly harvested lots around the world. It’s also why we sample-roast each varietal in small batches – re-tweaking the recipe along the way – until it exceeds our standards. And in the spirit of not taking any shortcuts, our baristas are specially trained to use our La Marzocco machine to dial in optimal brews and consistently perfect cups. One taste, and you’ll understand why our obsession with craft and quality is completely warranted.
